Speaking after Lancashire's nail-biting 29-run victory over Derbyshire at Old Trafford, Anderson was quick to highlight Stanley's exceptional potential despite his own eye-catching figures of 4-18 in the match.

"He's fantastic, he's so exciting to watch," Anderson told BBC Radio Lancashire. "I think he's only played three or four first-class games, which is astonishing to think of what future he's got." Despite his glowing assessment, Anderson acknowledged that Stanley remains a work in progress. The experienced campaigner noted that the young seamer is "still developing as a bowler" and "working out his skills in four-day cricket." "He's got that something really special. He's got that pace, he's got a lovely action and I thought he bowled brilliantly throughout the game," Anderson explained. "When you win games like that when it's close, it probably feels better than a comfortable win," he admitted, "but obviously you don't want it to be like that every week."
