James Cullum Tredwell was an English off-spin bowler who represented England across all three formats of international cricket. Born in Canterbury, Kent, Tredwell was a steady performer for both his county and country, known for his accurate line and length and ability to contain batsmen in limited-overs cricket. He made his international debut in 2010 and became a regular fixture in England's ODI and T20I squads during the early 2010s. Tredwell's most productive format was One Day International cricket, where he claimed 59 wickets at an average of 27.81 across 43 matches. His economical bowling made him particularly valuable in the middle overs, helping to build pressure on opposition batsmen. In Test cricket, he played 31 matches and took 66 wickets, though with a higher average of 41.27. While primarily selected as a bowler, Tredwell contributed useful runs down the order, accumulating over 800 Test runs. His international career spanned several years before he stepped back to focus on county cricket with Kent, where he remained a key player and eventual captain.
