Mohammad Sami was a Pakistani fast bowler who represented his country across all three formats during the early 2000s. Known for his raw pace and ability to consistently bowl above 150 km/h, Sami was one of the fastest bowlers of his generation. He made his international debut in 2001 and quickly established himself as a key member of Pakistan's pace attack alongside the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram. Sami's career was marked by his effectiveness in limited-overs cricket, particularly T20 internationals where he maintained an impressive average of 18.43 with 21 wickets in just 13 matches. His ODI record showed consistent wicket-taking ability with 67 scalps in 48 matches. However, like many express fast bowlers, he struggled to translate his limited-overs success to the longer format, managing 34 Test wickets at a higher average. Despite facing injury setbacks throughout his career, Sami's genuine pace and ability to trouble batsmen with his bouncer and yorker made him a valuable asset in Pakistan's bowling arsenal during his active years.
