Nathan Wade Bracken was an Australian left-arm fast-medium bowler who enjoyed a successful limited-overs career between 2001 and 2009. Known for his accurate line and length, Bracken was particularly effective in ODI cricket, becoming one of Australia's most reliable death bowlers during their dominant era. His ability to bowl yorkers and slower deliveries made him a valuable asset in the shorter formats of the game. Bracken's ODI career was highly impressive, taking 154 wickets in 100 matches at an average of 24.06. He was part of Australia's 2007 World Cup-winning squad and played crucial roles in several series victories. His limited-overs prowess was evident in T20 internationals as well, where he maintained similar effectiveness with 19 wickets in 19 matches. However, Test cricket proved challenging for Bracken, managing only 3 wickets in 2 appearances. Recurring injuries, particularly to his knee, hampered his career progression and ultimately led to his early retirement. Despite this, Bracken's contribution to Australian cricket in the limited-overs formats was significant during one of the team's most successful periods.
