Salman Butt
Salman Butt was a talented Pakistani opening batsman who represented his country across all three formats of international cricket from 2003 to 2010. Known for his elegant stroke play and solid technique, Butt established himself as a reliable top-order batsman and briefly served as Pakistan's Test captain. He was particularly effective in ODI cricket, where he averaged over 36 runs per match and formed productive opening partnerships. Butt's career was marked by several notable performances, including crucial innings in various series against top international teams. His left-handed batting style combined classical technique with the ability to accelerate when needed. However, his promising career was permanently derailed in 2010 when he was found guilty of spot-fixing during Pakistan's tour of England, along with teammates Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir. The scandal led to his ban from international cricket and overshadowed what had been a successful career spanning 119 international matches across all formats, in which he scored over 4,400 runs.
