VVS Laxman

Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman, commonly known as VVS Laxman, was one of India's most elegant and technically gifted batsmen. Born in Hyderabad, Laxman was renowned for his wristy strokeplay, impeccable timing, and ability to perform under pressure in Test cricket. His career-defining moment came during the famous 2001 series against Australia at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, where his magnificent 281 runs in partnership with Rahul Dravid helped India achieve one of the greatest comebacks in cricket history, turning a follow-on situation into a memorable victory.
