Thomas, who phoned Ahmed on the Tuesday before the match and immediately slotted him in at number three, was unsurprised. "That's just the attitude he has. He's an absolute superstar in the changing room," the former South Africa seamer said. High praise from a coach who doesn't deal in empty compliments.
Foxes Book Final Spot Despite Injury Drama
Leicestershire's 23-run victory over Nottinghamshire was built on solid foundations, with on-loan batter Hamza Shaikh producing a match-defining century to anchor the Foxes' total.
